What IS This Site?
Welcome to the independently made & maintained site dedicated to providing an online platform where lovers of music can meet, chat, & share their favorite songs, albums, artists & genres. You are invited to our small corner on the internet that is still free of ads, fees, & other money making schemes. Sorry, crypto bros, you need to sit this one out.
Where Do I Start?
By creating an account! You can do so by clicking THIS LINK. Registration can also be found on the site’s Menu Bar under the label LOGIN OR REGISTER. From there, you will be asked to fill out a nifty profile that will help you find other like-minded music lovers. The fields necessary to create an account will be marked with an asterisk (*).
What are the Main Features?
You have influence over the culture of the community & have the ability to make new friends by using the following key features of the site:
- General Admission Chat – This is the main, community wide chatroom, and it is located on the front page of the site for easy access. You are free to chat, drop audio & video share links as you converse with other members.
- Add a Youtube Video to the Feed – You will see a list of songs with record icons to the left of the General Admission chat. You help populate it! Use the submission fields located below the General Admission chatroom to drop a share link of a song’s Youtube video you wish to add, fill out the Title and (if you wish) add tags to your submission. Songs you submit will show up in the feed for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, whatever songs you submit will also show up under the Music Feed section of your profile so others get an idea of what songs you enjoy most.
- Groups – Join as many groups that apply to your music tastes! We have a group for all the major genres (speak up if you think more factions are needed!), and joining a group is an easy way to hone in on people who like the same sort of music as you do. The list of available Groups can be found under the Menu heading, Groups. You should see the email address you used to register your account auto-populated in the Personal Details field. Hit Submit and you are in. That simple!
After you have joined a Group, you will have access to a private group chat you share with every other member who joined as well. That Group page will soon sport other features, such as direct feeds to the forum section of the same genre.
- FORUMS – Discuss your favorite topics at your leisure in our forums. For example, we have an Introductions thread I highly recommend you reply to once you are registered! You can always find the forum on the Menu of the site.
- Discord Server – Now, technically, the Discord is not a feature of the site, but it comes highly recommended and operates in junction with Phonic Friends. Members of the site Tastebuds operate the real-time text/voice/video chat server with a true dedication to the overall community of music lovers. If you are striving for a more robust chatting experience, I highly encourage you to accept THIS INVITE LINK. A view of the members currently using it can be seen at any time from our front page.
