My motto: 'A day without music is a day wasted!', or in Dutch: 'Een dag zonder muziek is een dag niet geleefd!'. My musical roots lie in the seventies, when my father had an 8-track player in his Opel Manta.My younger brother and me used to sing-along in the backseat with Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, Vicky Leandros & Demis Roussos.At home in my bedroom - where I was able to choose and play my own taste - I listened to the vinyl singles I had saved for, from artists like Status Quo, the Osmonds, Roger Glover, Mud, Slade.Around high school I started to record tapes from radio with my favourite top 40 music (Blondie, Ultravox, Men at Work, Talking Heads, David Bowie, The Police, etc.).My first live music experience was on 27 Nov. 1984 when a friend from school invited me to a Big Country concert in my hometown Utrecht.The loudness, intensity, crowd spirit, lighting, decor, the presence and virtuosity of Stuart & Co., everything was so overwhelming.I became interested in post punk and new wave music, for me the best music was created between roughly 1985 and 1990.I love other stuff too, alternative folk, ska, punk, rock, shoegaze, americana and blues.I signed up to FF to find musical friends and to absorb fresh music.I'm in for everything as long as it is melodic, melancholic, exciting, dreamlike, or even better, a combination of all those.I consider myself animal lover, honest, faithful, naïve, oblivious, humble, nerdy, handy, helpful, accurate, patient, funny (at least I try), dreamer, thinker, sometimes gloomy, sensitive, melancholic.
